One of my regular tasks as webmaster is to update the Douglas Spares lists on this site – click pre-war and post-war if you haven’t looked at them recently. Recent additions to the post-war list include battery carriers for Mark Series models and crankcase breather valves for Dragonflys; new parts are added regularly, so it’s worth bookmarking the page. The Club’s spares scheme is open to all members, and the unsung heroes who run the pre- and post-war schemes deserve a vote of thanks for helping the rest of us keep our machines on the road!
Pre-War Spares Scheme
I’m pleased to report that the Club’s Pre-War Spares Scheme will be up and running again shortly, with a planned start date of 1st March 2023. A Club member has kindly stepped forward and agreed to take on this key role – full contact details will be included in the next issue of The New Con Rod magazine, posted to Club members at the end of February. As the owner of a pre-war machine myself, I view this as a particularly positive development!
New Spares List for Post-War Models
The Club stocks a wide range of spare parts for Mark Series and Dragonfly models, and a list of parts for these post-war Douglas motorcycles is now available here. A big ‘thank you’ to our new Post-War Spares Secretary, who has spent many hours cataloguing the stock – hopefully he will get fewer ‘have you got a …’ emails as a result!
